Guagua Pichincha is 4790 m / 15715 ft. high; the journey starts with an ascent through the moor and forests of Chuquiragua. Once reached the refuge located at 4,540 m/14,900 ft we will rest a bit before completing the next and final section to the summit. Leaving the refuge you will arrive at the crater’s edge where you will be able to appreciate the greatness of the crater and its several geysers. You will continue hiking through small segments of rock until reaching the summit located at 4.790 m /15.459 ft. After a well-deserved rest, you will start hiking down the sandy mountainside until returning to our beginning point.
The physical and technical level for this track is low-average. The minimum elevation is 4.000m / 13.123 ft and the maximum 4.790m / 15.714 ft. The terrain consists of medium grass prairie, sand and rocks

What to bring: Warm clothing, sunglasses, camera, hiking shoes, gloves, waterproof jacket, sun screen and cotton pants.
